Prison Pen Pal Hub

Terms

Last updated October 7, 2026

Prison Pen Pal Hub is a directory where family and friends list adults in prisons and jails, in the U.S. and around the world, who want pen pals. By listing someone or using the directory you agree to these terms.

Who can list, and who can be listed

What a profile must be

We screen every profile when it is submitted and may hold it for a person to review. We can ask for a change, decline a profile, or take one down if it breaks these rules, if the listed person or the facility asks us to, or if the information turns out to be false.

Prison rules

Some prison systems have rules about pen-pal listings and can discipline people because of them. We publish the rules we know of, quoted from each department's own policies (rules by state), and ask for your confirmation before a profile goes up in those systems. Those policies can change at any time, and you are responsible for deciding, with the person you list, whether to list them. We are not a law firm and nothing on this site is legal advice.

Mail and contact

We never read, forward or handle mail. Writers contact listed people directly and at their own discretion. We are not responsible for correspondence between writers and listed people. Never send money to someone you only know through letters.

Your private manage link

Anyone who has your manage link can change the profile. Keep the email it came in, and write to us if you think someone else has it.
